Hi there! 안녕하세요!
This blog is to keep track of my writing (from Oct. '14 onward), saving tips and tricks I find, little rants or raves, and so on. If you don't like it, kindly leave. I am a fangirl and reviewer, so do tend to post on that note as well.

What's new today? Oh, nothing really except my latest obsession that a little behind time. But, blame my hectic schedule and lack of Netflix - I am only now getting to go through American Horror Story and it's amazingness!
Currently, I'm watching Freak Show. I decided to do it first, since that's one of my favorite things, aside from asylums - but my best friend recommended each season in a different order.
Today, let's look through the cast of Freak Show and their latest and/or most well known roles!
I will be using PerezHilton's website's pictures - all credit to this post.

Twisty the Clown, ultimately now one of my faves, is played by the ever-so-great John Carroll Lynch - although, you wouldn't know that since he's covered with the creepy mask and lots of well-done, horrifying makeup! His character, costume, and amazing overall performance is to be noted for a long time - he's just downright badass and a good villain.
John is known for Body of Proof (TV show and just awesome), Gran Torino, Shutter Island (one of my faves!), Crazy, Stupid, Love., and was recently in The Invitation.

Naomi Grossman, is pinhead Pepper, with unrecognizable makeup and prosthetics and downright crazy-ass overall look and costume to transfer her gorgeous self to... well, Pepper! I thought to look up the characters because I knew they weren't like that in real life... and well... I was stunned!
What I didn't know, and credit to IMDb, she wrote, produced, and starred in her second hit solo show, "Carnival Knowledge Love, Lust, and other Human Oddities" which was apparently amazing and stellar in everyone's eyes, so I must look it up! And although I have only heard of one of the shows she's been on (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch as a cheerleader), the information of all her videos, shorts, and just general shows... the titles are damn interesting and I'm sure she is phenomenal! She picks cool things, dresses like a bitchin' girl, and writes and produces while taking on pretty cool gigs. I think I have a new fave actress!

Although she only has tri-breasts and it isn't much of a different since we still get to see her normal, stunning face, Angela Bassett plays Desiree Dupree, a hermaphrodite and hooked on the bulky and temperamental big guy of the show. She's fierce, manipulative, and works her magic on anyone!
But... does anyone remember her from long ago movies? How about Boyz n the Hood? Meet the Robinsons was animated, but she still shined as Mildred. And she stars in some pretty damn awesome shows that I can't list all of - Akeelah and the Bee, How Stells Got Her Groove Back, Malcolm X, ER. She can hold on to any role and make it her own, definitely. She's a star and you just have to love her! I mean - come on! She's awesome!

Kathy Bates, a charming and delightfully talented favorite of mine, stars as "Bearded Lady" Ethel Darling, the mom of another favorite, Jimmy Darling (whom we'll speak of soon).
Kathy had to put on a beard, which takes a while to perfect or create every time, and she speaks in an Irish accent (that I, at first, thought was terrible - her ancestors are Irish, so maybe she tried imitating them a little too much). I love her to death with every movie and show of hers, and was excited to see her in this!
Fried Green Tomatoes, probably one of my top movies on a list of ultimate faves, stars her alongside a magnificent cast! She was also in Titanic, helping Jack with the fancy life. Her older titles include Signs of Life, The Late Shift, Primary Colors, The Waterboy (this movis is perfection wrapped in comedic dumbness), My Sister's Keeper, About Schmidt. She starred in Around the World in 80 Days, Little Black Book, Six Feet Under, an uncredited role in Rumor Has It..., Bitsy the Cow in Charlotte's Web (who doesn't love that?!), Fred Claus, Bee Movie (hell yeah!), and much more. She always gets in these incredible roles for incredible movies that we always keep with us. So, no surprise she's memorable as a dying mother on Freak Show. Here's to you, my love! Keep on acting and I'm awaiting your... er, apparently five upcoming things that will be out this year and next!

Oh, my aching heart! Spoiler! Meep dies. And it broke me in to several pieces. But, Ben Woolf, who plays the adorable and almost insane (he likes putting cut off chicken heads in Halloween bags) Meep, looks a bit different without his costume and messy makeup and fake teeth. Although we can clearly see his face and who he is, I still love the idea and image of little Meep.
What you didn't know are the roles he was in and some news (which I'll get to). He was in Haunting Charles Manson, Woggie (which I have no clue of), Insidious (uncredited Dancing Boy), and Infantata in AHS as well.
Fun facts include: he was a preschool teacher! That's perfect because he's short and cute and seems so darn friendly! He, like his character, had dwarfism, but for the real Ben, he suffered pituitary dwarfism which causes bones to shrink.
Now, for the thing that broke my heart. Ben Woolf was struck by a passing car, got his head hit by the side mirror (reports say) and died on a Monday afternoon on February 19th. He suffered a stroke and apparently Ben was an organ donator and his organs were donated to help nearly 50 people or more! Ben Woolf, although I didn't get to fall in love with until now, was amazing and from what I see of his real life, this man was a precious gem that couldn't be replaced. It makes me sad finding out the news of his sudden death...

Sarah Paulson was transformed into siamese twins this season. She's gorgeous and we get double the beauty and awesomeness that radiates from this lovely lady. And her character- great and memorable. Mainly for the fact I didn't realize these sisters were so separated while being connected. Of course, you'd think that, but from how they first seemed... I didn't expect that.
At first a Broadway star with theater and music background, she went on to be known for her roles in AHS, 12 Years a Slave (she was hella bitch), Mud, Serenity, American Gothic, Jack & Jill, Deadwood, The Notorious Bettie Page, The Sprit, Cupid, Grey's Anatomy (as young Ellis Grey, ooh), New Year's Eve, and will be on American Crime Story.
Though this isn't much, her Broadway career involved co-star Jessica Lange, and her acting is just... downright well-done! Applause for her!

Rose Siggins is the beautiful Legless Suzy with wild hair and killer clothes (and skateboard). And though Rose isn't an actress, she's more just the inspirational and wonderful lady who has two children, is married, and is a mechanic. Sadly enough, thanks to having to walk on her hands too much for support, her arm joints became messed up and they are hard to use to move around the entire time, so she uses a skateboard.
From Huffington Post, Rose stated, "My skateboard’s so important to me -- it is the difference between feeling trapped and feeling free. I couldn’t get by without it. And the kids think it’s cool!" She was speaking of her arthritis and fear of losing it all because it was affecting her arms - her only form of freedom to move. And her already difficult condition was her disease: sacral agenesis. It's a deformation of the spine. It can cause problems with your legs and lots of other things, but for Rose, she had her legs amputated at the hip at 2 years old. Imagine that! And the even more fun-to-learn thing is that she tried the prosthetic legs and preferred using her skateboard instead! What else? It's risky to have kids - she ended up having not one, but two. Plus, apparently she has a healthy sex life.
For Rose, however, she still has things that affect her life in a negative way (health issues) and seems to battle through it, being just an astounding woman!

Mat Fraser is Paul. He has no visible tattoos in real life, but on the show he is covered and basically the same, aside from slicked back hair, the tatts, and his angry temper that comes out. Shh. But who is Mat Fraser? Well, if you go to search images you will see him stripping and wearing next to nothing. But, this Englishman was a drummer (hot damn!), and though he suffers from Phocomelia, that doesn't stop him.
Phocomelia is an extremely rare congenital disorder involving malformations of the limbs. Apparently a drug called thalidomide can cause this disorder and just so happens his mother had it. It's a drug that was used for cancers and complications of leprosy - also used for HIV/AIDS, Crohn's disease, sarcoidosis, rheumatoid arthritis and much more. But the side effects? Common ones are normal things, but they can be extreme. Then there's the uncommon ones that have tremors. Rare side effects cause worse things. It was in the late 50s and early 60s that more than 10k of kids in 46 countries suffered deformities like phocomelia. Canada ended up being the last place to sell the drug in 1962. It spent an overall 5 years on the market and the tests on animals didn't show bad signs. But for humans, kids ended up with lives that were forever changed and difficult although they merely only knew life with deformities.
Like Mat, we have Lorraine Mercer, who carried the Olympic Torch UK 2012; Alvin Law, a radio broadcaster; Tony Melendez, and award-winning singer and guitarist who plays with his feet; and more amazing people.
Back to Mat. He was in Metrosexuality, Helen of Troy as Calchas, Cast Offs, Inbred, AHS, and will be in two newer productions. He's also launched daring theatrical pieces with his "burlesque-icon" wife Julie Atlas Muz (stunning).
Overall, Mat Fraser is amazing and a creative artist despite his disability. I adore him and am glad to be introduced to such a shocking and rocking man!

I'll post a second half to this for talking about the characters in general and their amazing work - and the fanfics I find! I loved finding out all about the phenomenal stars and seeing how kind and damn awesome they are outside their roles and disabilities! These are incredible people! How can you not love them?
