Title;  5/5
Like many other titles recently, they are named after the main purpose. In this case it’s a doll, Annabelle. Honestly, that’s all it’s about and why things are happening, so why not name it after the creepy ass doll?

Movie Poster / Trailer(s) / Etc.;  10/10
Though I think the whole “blah blah The Conjuring blah blahh” draws away and instantly gives warning that this is directly connected – I wonder if it’d have the same feel minus the reference to it’s predecessor (actual timeline successor)? The poster, however, is full of a half doll face with blood trickling from the eye. The doll is creepy. That’s the thing. And the added blood, darkened lighting and the red and black theme… perfect for horror. It’s great!
The trailers are pretty darn good, I’d say. Though I didn’t expect what actually took place during the movie and this time… that’s a great thing!

Directing / Description, Idea Portrayed;  10/10
I loved the whole process and the movie – scene by desperate scene. The director did a fine job with showing us a couple with insane happenings (Satanists coming to your house and clutching a doll is insane, alright) and all the aftermath thanks to that shitty cult chick… it takes an actor, and director alike, to show crazy and scared people on screen. Bravo!

Creativity/Originality;  9/10
Of course people wanted to know the story of Annabelle! And though this is taken from a story regarding an actual Annabelle doll (who was actually a Raggedy Ann doll from whenever – I know my uncle had one when he was young), it was still shone appropriately and with finesse. I love the idea of the cult chick being the one to die and come to life in the doll. No ancient human spirit, no! Current living girl whom the couple once knew… now evil and seeking revenge and for all Hell to break loose!
I honestly loved the whole thing.

Plot;  16/20
Cliché at times, yes. But it was a great movie to experience and be given a clear image of this story that needed telling. It pieces so well with The Conjuring and why the creepy Annabelle moved in it. It’s a whole extra level of terrifying and insane matters and I love it! I love how the couple are, how she is pregnant, how things go wild, and much more! The plot is detailed well, written with thrill, and I was so pleased!

Characterization / Chara Development, Process, etc.;   12/15

Mother dearest is crazy for a time. Father dearest doesn’t understand, then finally does. Annabelle… oh that poor, twisted, isolated, devilishly corrupt mind… it’s beauty and illusion wrapped in a gift for me! I loved even the smallest of characters and the way they panned out throughout the sequences of the movie. The mother, of course, is the favorite of mine.
And the saddest, most heart-wrenching moment is when a mother must sacrifice herself to save her precious baby… and the actual Mama tries, but her husband saves her… and our favorite psychic-like chick does it instead since she already lost her baby years ago. It was… moving. I love characters that draw me in and then let me bleed sorrow once the movie is over.

Casting Choice: 5/5

IT WAS GREAT.

_______________ 일부분 ; part three; the little things. _______________

Important Questions: 9/10
Able to follow?
>> Of course. And it was such a thriller at points (or all of it possibly) and you couldn’t turn away to actually miss anything.
Is it captivating or boring?
>> Captivating.
>> Best part is Madam Shaye’s role as a seemingly sane, yet crazy old woman & the ending.
Don’t judge, but the mothers and their initial sacrifice was so touching yet sad… it’s a memorable, somewhat fave moment.
The worst? The cliché neighbor (said woman I just spoke of) being right there to help the new couple and their problems with a demon doll.
Is it rave-worthy?
>> Very much so!

Flow;  5/5
Great, easy to follow, twisty yet fun!

Genre Fit / Styling: 10/10
Basic spirit-enhanced, fun and thrilling, and dramatic story that fits the styling of Horror. It’s not “pop up in your face”, but it’s a mind game and fun to watch Annabelle torture them and appear out of nowhere!

Extra & Notes;  (+10)
Probably too biased, but I enjoyed it sososo much and couldn’t get over the movie and still want to watch again and again! Though it has it’s moments where I groaned… I loved it and the older setting of time (not modern 2010s) and how they handled it all.

Total Score; 101/100
